Talk(ing) about blockchain and smart contracts in public procurement
Tomorrow I will be participating in the 2023 EPCO public procurement conference, sadly not in person but only online.
The title of my presentation is "The limited scope for using blockchain and smart contracts in public procurement" and it is an evolution of my paper from last year on the use cases for blockchain in public procurement.
It is fair to say not much has changed in an year, so I still see a very limited role the technology in procurement. However, the focus of the presentation itself will be more on the smart contracts side of things which I did not cover in detail in that paper. I was hoping that by now we would have a final version of the European Union Data Act to analyse properly, but it seems it is not the case.
The slides are here, but bear in mind I may update them just before running the session.
